A 41mm Wellings Mint restrike of the historic 1720 Founding of Louisbourg medal, seemingly in Silver though possibly in plated bronze, edge-impressed "WELLINGS, embedded a the center of a 72x68m square lucite block. Obv. young bust of Louis XV, right, ludovicus xv.d.g.fr.et nav.rex; Rev. view of Louisbourg and sailing ships Louisbourg founded and fortified, 1720 in Latin. A most attractive piece, and we believe quite scarce - a bronze Wellings restrike last sold in the 2016 Bell CNA sale for $240.
