A group of three prestigious medals awarded to the same recipient, as follows: (1) 1884 Governor-General Lansdowne Medal in Silver, 50mm, 69.3 grams,, Br.93, Leroux 1550, Edge-engraved "QUEBEC HIGH-SCHOOL CLASSICS CHARLES E. BRODIE - 1885", AU/UNC with light hairlines in fields, housed in original Wyon box; (2) Ulric J. Tessier Medal in Silver, 50mm, 66.9 grams, Br.140, Leroux 1854a, awarded for the Study of Law at Quebec's Laval University; Rev. engraved "Prix Tessier / 1893 / Chs. E. Brodie", edge-punched "ARGENT"; AU, with light wear on high-points and some light scuffs in fields. A very scarce medal, and according to the Royal Numismatic Society's Journal of 1907, the medal "has not been awarded since the death of Judge Tessier [? about 1892]", and hence almost certainly the last awarded example for at least the next 25+ years or so. (3) accompanied by a delightful Daniel Wilkie Medal for Mathematics in 9K Gold, a fully hand-engraved medal, 32mm (in bezel with small suspension bar), 9.65 grams, Rev: engraved portrait at center, around circumference: "THE DANIEL WILKIE MEDAL MATHEMATICS", Obv: at center, "AWARDED / TO / Charles E. Brodie / 1886", around circumference: "QUEBEC HIGH SCHOOL - CUPIO DISCERE". (Dr. Daniel Wilkie was a respected teacher, author, and Presbyterian clergyman, and is believed to have been the first Principal of the High School of Quebec in the early 1840's). Lot of 3 medals
