Arthur, the New Zealand born Canadian architect and heritage conservationist, as follows: (1) Otago Art Society, 52mm, 74 gram Silver medal, Rev: palette/brushes at enter, raised text around rims: "otaco art society founded 1875", Obv: wreath around engraved center: "OTAGO BOY'S / HIGH SCHOOL / FOR DRAWING / E.R. ARTHUR / 1914; (2) Ontario Association of Architects, 44mm, 38.4 gram medal in gold-fill by Birks-Ellis, Rev: architectural Church/columned temple center, ornate arches above, raised text around upper rim and at bottom: "DESIGN WITH BEATUY BUILD WITH TRUTH / INCORPORATED 1889 / ONTARIO ASSOCIATION / OF / ARCHITECTS", several small Maple leaves at bottom; Obv: blank without rims, engraved text: "TORONTO CHAPTER / EXHIBITION / MEDAL OF HONOUR / E. Born in New Zealand, Arthur was a Canadian architect, writer and educator who would design over 100 projects in Canada from 1925 to 1965, and also a co-founder of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario in 1933. A professor until 1966, , the University of Toronto opened the new Eric Arthur Gallery in 2001 in the Faculty of Architecture building named in his honour.
