A 36mm, 26.3g personal medal of Canadian Governor-General Jules Leger (served 1974-9) in tested Sterling Silver. With right-facing conjoined portraits on reverse, text around circumference, and striking obverse design by Alex Colville of Owl at top, wings spread, and small crowned Maple Leaf at bottom. It is reported that these small-sized medals (mostly in tombac) were presented by Governor General Léger to all recipients of the Order of Canada as part of the Order’s 10th anniversary celebrations in 1976. An attractive medal with the lightest hairlines in fields, and the first example we have seen or handled in Silver
