A rare 250th Anniversary medal of the Hudson's Bay Company in hallmarked 15 Karat gold by Elkington of London, 38mm, presented to Thomas Clouston for "30 Years of Faithful Service". Listed as G.115a, Gingras records that a total of 54 gold medals were produced for Canadian company staff, and the official roll confirms Thomas Clouston as a "Pensioner". Interestingly, however, we can find no record of the medal having been made in 15K fineness. On original clean ribbon with suspension clasp, housed in original HBC box of issue with top-left edge of case missing. An important piece of Canadian medalic history
