An intriguing lot of 5 banknotes of the Azad Hind National Bank, founded in 1944 in Rangoon as the central bank for the "Provisional Government of Free India". Established by Subhas Chandra Bose, with capital provided by a wealthy businessman in Burma, the Bank was used to manage donations from the Indian diaspora for the liberation of India from British rule. Offered here are five different 19.5x11.25cm notes of 10,000 "Good Wishes" denomination (essentially, promissory notes), with various Indian heroes/patriots pictured - some singly, others in pairs. All twice-folded VF's, and the first such examples we have encountered. (Lot of 5 notes)
