An early 20th century souvenir spoon in Sterling Silver, 14.5cm, 15.9 grams, with "BLACK HILLS" engraved down center of shaft on front, and detailed raised relief over top of handle of a pair American Indians, one on horse-back with spear, the other standing near a large pot, large teepee above which is set against a cut-away section of the spoon at very top. Interestingly, a round shield sits below them, feathers suspended from bottom, with a raised eagle motif bearing the symbol on its chest that would later come to be known as a swastika (though which we know was used as a good luck symbol by certain peoples much earlier). Bowl of spoon itself remains unengraved.
