A 38mm, 27.1 gram medal in antiqued and hallmarked Sterling Silver, issued in 1967 to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Leander Starr Jameson - 10th Prime Minister of the Cape Colony, and second administrator of Southern Rhodesia, etc. Rev: bust of Jameson forward, "LEANDER STARR JAMESON / 1853-1917" around left and right rims; Obv: four soldiers (one on horseback), native huts in background, one soldier raising flag to top of tree, text below: "LOBENGULA'S KRAAL / NOVEMBER 1893", impressed ".925 Silver" below (referring to the defeat of King Lobengula's warriors, at the hands of the British South Africa Company). Housed with numbered certificate in original case of issue, missing accompanying bronze striking that would have been included.
