A 39mm medal in white metal/pewter, struck to commemorate the opening of the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicgago; Rev: Columbus at center, with compatriots, raised text around circumference: "SOUVENIR OF THE OPENING OF THE WORLDS FAIR CHICAGO 1893", Obv: domed building at center, raised text around circumference: "SOUVENIR . BIRDSEYE VIEW OF THE WORLDS FAIR CHICAGO 1883", nice AU/UNC. Offered together with a 45mm aluminum medal, Obv: ornately-engraved depiction of Columbus and party against globe, fine raised text below: "Landing of Columbus in America / October 12th, 1492", Rev: Republican Presidental Candidate portraits at top (unnamed, although Harrison and Reid), "1892" above, well-engraved Whitehouse below; AU, finely-holed at top rim, as (we believe), issued.
