A 27x34mm Ivan Gooding Prize Prize medal of the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association, in marked 10K gold by Birks, on 35mm ribbon with gold suspension bar. Back unnamed, although presented to Flight Lieutenant Thomas William Gregory, the ony double-recipient of the Queen's Medal while in two different services (lot includes a letter from us attesting to this provenance). Rev: Beaver at center of large Maple Leaf, rifles to left and right, meeting at top rim, below extended crown, raised text around circumference: "IVAN L.C. GOODING PRIZE". Dating to the late 1920's/ early 1930's, and a very scarce medal in Gold - we can find no record of a previous example reaching public sale. (estimated gold content of .160 oz)
