Lot of 34 French silver ecus in average circulated condition from various French Mints, ca.1707-1790. This accumulation is an interesting addition to any collection. With an actual silver weight (ASW) of 28.83oz and a silver fineness of .917 per coin, this lot also carries a substantial amount of silver in these historic, widely recognized coins. Some examples of the pieces included in the lot are as follows: 1784Q (Perpignan Mint) King Louis XVI, 1726Q (Rennes Mint) King Louis XV, 1774L (Bayonne Mint) King Louis XV, 1707T (Nantes Mint) King Louis XIII overstruck on older ecu (Please see lot photos attached to judge condition and coins for yourself). All coins present nicely, with many showing honest wear for their age, while some are toned, scratched, and/or polished. All dates and mint marks are visible, making this accumulation a good starting point for a case study on these well-known 18th-century European coins and their various mints. Specifications: Diameter: 40mm (approx.), Weight: 27.28g. (approx.), Composition: Silver (.917), Edge: Raised.
