A 50mm, 59 gram medal in .925 Sterling Silver, struck by the Royal Mint in Wales for the government of Haiti, and commemorating the Haitian Revolution leader Toussaint Louverture. Issued in 2003, the bicentennial of Toussaint's death after being captured and exiled to France. The French would eventually capitulate the following year, resulting in the sovereign state of Haiti being declared on January 1, 1804. Mintage unknown, though believed to be a scarcer Royal Mint issue. UNC, with light golden toning, housed in red box of issue with certificate (net silver content of 1.75 oz)
