issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1965, this antique bronze medal was produced by the world-renowned Swiss mint Huguenin to commemorate the organization's centenary, which falls under the United Nations family. The obverse, in the center, features the initials ‘UIT’ in the foreground, while the background displays a globe with a lightning bolt within a wreath of branches. Along both the inner and outer ring of the obverse is inscribed “CENTENARY OF THE INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION UNION” in various languages, with ‘GENEVE 1965’ along the center bottom rim. The medal’s reverse displays a Morse telegraph key in the center, while around the outer rim is inscribed “VOX  SIGNATA MANU TOTUM CIRCUMVOLAT ORBEM” (A SIGN WRITTEN BY HAND FLIES AROUND THE WHOLE EARTH), and ‘PARIS 1865’ along the bottom rim. The medal is housed in its original brown Huguenin case. Specifications: Diameter: 60mm, Weight: 98.3g, Composition: Bronze, Edge: Plain. A unique and interesting medal from a well-established international organization.
