Banque de la Martinique, 5 francs (1903-1934), red, Law of 1901, P#6A. A nice, attractive example of a note from an early French Overseas Territory issue of the Third French Republic. The note shows some horizontal and vertical creases, but the paper quality is still fresh and strong. Both the face and back display bright colours, with vibrant red on the face and a blue-green tint on the back. Edges and corners are overall strong, with the corners slightly rounded and only a small edge split on the right-hand side. There are two pinholes on the left side of the face of the note, but they do not detract from the overall appearance of the piece itself. A nice, honest and attractive issue for the age and territory. Decent Fine
