Poland, 1998, 10 Złotych Proof Sterling Silver coin. This coin commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II in 1978. Obv: Value of “10 Złotych” in the lower left corner, Polish eagle in upper right corner, and “M” in bottom right section, separated within cross design. Lettering round rim “RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 1998”. Rev: Image of John Paul II wearing a mitre, and papal robes with arms stretched out. Lettering around top of rim: “20 · LECIE PONTYFIKATU” and “JANA PAWŁA II” around the bottom. Designer: Ewa Olszewska-Borys. Edge: Plain. Both coin surfaces display strong mirror finishes and nice frosted designs indicative of a true and honest Mint State proof coin. The obverse displays a small stain on the vertical lower portion of the cross section of the coin while the reverse displays a solid problem free and very clean design with no blemishes or imperfections. A great addition to any coin collection. This proof coin is housed in a navy blue hard plastic suede case, not believed to be the original case of issue. No mint papers and or documents are included.
