A 50mm, 32.7 gram engraved Sterling Silver medal, inclusive of ornate outer bezel, awarded in 1939-40 by the Websters Seminary of Kirriemuir, Scotland, to William Lindsay Ogilvy. Rev: Engraved "WILLIAM LINDSAY OGILVY / DUX / PRESENTED / BY / JOSEPH ALEXANDER", with 1939 Birmingham hallmark at bottom; Obv: engraved "WEBSTERS SEMINARY / KIRRIEMUIR / 1939-40". Born in Kirrieumuir, Scotland, Dr. William Lindsay Ogilvy studied medicine at St. Andrew's University, and was a distinguished surgeon at Montreal General Hospital until his retirement in 1996. During his career, he also served as Chief of Surgery at Queen Mary Veteran's Hospital, as well as Associate Dean of Admission at McGill Medical School.
