A group of five WWII service medals, as follows: a mounted Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, 1939-45 War Medal, and Canadian Decoration (Elizabeth), impressed to "S/SGT D.L.F. Leichnitz". Delbert Leichnitz served in the Canadian army from 1942 to 1967, seeing service in Holland, and finished his remarkable career in 1983 as a civilian employee of the Department of National Defence (in 1966 he received a patent for an adjustable antenna). Also included is an additional 1939-1945 War Medal and Canadian Volunteer Service Medal (with ribbon, but missing suspension bar) awarded to his future wife, Mary Catherine Josephine Daley, who served in Newfoundland during the war.
